On March 8th, as the last visitor bid farewell to the exhibition hall, the inaugural edition of Asia Photonics Expo (APE) concluded with great success at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who joined APE 2024. On behalf of Informa Markets and the APE organising committee, we sincerely appreciate your invaluable contribution in making this event a triumph.
Over the course of the three days, APE brought together thousands of key players in the photonics industry, creating a unique platform for networking and exploring the immense potential of application development. Attendees engaged in various stimulating activities, including business matchmaking, networking sessions, thought-provoking conferences, and enlightening site tours organized by esteemed partners such as LUX, EPIC, Light, IEEE, and SSIA, etc. These collaborative efforts enhanced the overall experience and fostered valuable connections within the photonics community.
Now, let’s delve into some remarkable facts and figures from APE 2024:
15,000 Square Meters Exhibition Area
350 Exhibitors
4,478 Visitors from 76 Countries and Regions
20 International Delegations
24 Forums and Sessions
APE 2024 Onsite Highlights
During APE 2024, 24 concurrent conferences and sessions covered a wide range of topics, including ultra precision, micro nano processing and optical testing, optical technologies and applications in pan-semiconductor processing, next-generation data center optical interconnect technology evolution, photonics integration: transforming data communication applications, overview of photonics in Asia, PHOTONICS @ SG 2024 Conference, the opening banquet, and selected sourcing connect – Singapore, etc. These sessions provided participants with opportunities to discuss and exchange ideas on the development of new technologies, explore new products and technologies, and capture future trends, frontier technologies, industry hotspots, and innovative application scenarios.
Highlights of Conferences during APE 2024
During the exhibition, APE organised site tours to the R&D centers of local universities and photonics companies in Singapore, aiming to enhance communication and exchange between industries and promote industry development. The APE 2024 Site Tour Program was conducted over two days. On March 6th, companies visited the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), exploring the cleanrooms in the Metrology Labs, the Dyson-SUTD Innovation Studio, and the Optical Quasar Lab of SUTD. On March 8th, the tour included visits to the Centre for Disruptive Photonic Technologies (CDPT) and the Centre for Optical Fibre Technology (COFT) at the Photonics Institute, Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Attendees also visited the Experience Center of SICK Singapore, and the Institute of Microelectronics (IME) and Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) at the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR), etc.
