Background
The intelligent vehicle market in Southeast Asia is rapidly emerging, showcasing an impressive development trend. The swift advancement of technology and government support for innovation are driving the robust growth of the intelligent vehicle industry. Among these, intelligent driving technology for electric vehicles is gaining significant attention, becoming a key driving force for industry transformation. Government environmental policies and subsidy measures are encouraging the promotion and popularization of electric vehicles. Meanwhile, continuous innovation and development in intelligent driving technology are bringing greater convenience and safety to future transportation, attracting more investors and consumers. As an emerging market, the demand for electric vehicles in Southeast Asia is steadily increasing. Major automakers are ramping up their investments in the region, promoting the adoption and application of intelligent vehicle technology.
Intelligent driving technology refers to the use of advanced onboard sensors, controllers, actuators, radars, and other devices, integrating artificial intelligence, computer vision, modern communication, and network technologies, to enable intelligent information exchange and sharing among vehicles, roads, people, and clouds. This allows cars to have complex environment perceptions, intelligent decision-making, and autonomous control functions, ultimately realizing a new generation of information technology that replaces human control of motor vehicles in a safer, more efficient, more comfortable, and more energy-saving way. Photonics technology plays an irreplaceable role in information acquisition, transmission, and processing, and therefore also plays a crucial role in the field of intelligent driving. Sensor fusion refers to the integration and calculation of data collected by various sensors such as onboard cameras, LiDARs, millimeter-wave radars, and ultrasonic radars. With the development of automotive intelligence, the development of multi-sensor fusion technology has become a common challenge faced by industry. At the same time, regarding the application of optics in the cockpit, the demand for smart cockpits in terms of central control displays, dashboards, etc., continues to increase. Digitization, large screens, multi-screens, and high definition have become important standard configurations for automotive smart cockpits. Optical display devices such as in-cabin vision and HUD that interact with drivers also make the automotive cockpit more technologically advanced.
To closely meet the needs of the application industry, the 2025 Photonics Empowering Electric Vehicle Technology Forum will comprehensively discuss the application and solutions of photonics technology in various emerging fields, promoting the deep integration of photonics technology in application fields, and providing a platform for technical exchanges and business cooperation for professionals in the intelligent vehicle industry.
